The attention of The Goodies Movement has been drawn to the recent statement issued from the Presidency concerning a mere rumour of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s potential participation in the 2027 presidential election.

For a government that claims to be focused on governance, it is astonishing that the Villa appears so idle and jobless that it finds time to elevate rumours about Jonathan into a matter of national policy statement. If the administration were truly confident in its so-called “giant strides,” it would not be jittery at the mere mention of Jonathan’s name.

We must remind the Presidency that the court is not an extension of Aso Rock.

As for records, Nigerians know better. Goodluck Jonathan’s achievements and antecedents speak for themselves, from expanding democratic freedoms, to stabilising the polity, to leaving behind the largest economy in Africa and the most credible electoral process in Nigeria’s history. These are legacies that President Bola Tinubu cannot match and will never come close to in his lifetime.

The desperation to demonise Jonathan only confirms one thing: the APC fears his unmatched credibility at home and abroad. For us in The Goodies Movement, the presidency’s rantings have strengthened our conviction. We now firmly believe that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will contest, win the 2027 election, and be sworn in on May 29, 2027 and there is nothing the APC or the Villa can do to stop the will of the Nigerian people.

History will once again vindicate Jonathan, as it always does.
