Abuja, August 29, 2026 (www.crestnewsonline.ng) The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Ayo Abdulrahaman as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The announcement of his appointment came as the new NPFL season kicked off at the Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan where the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) beat newly-promoted Inter Lagos FC 2-1.

Abdulrahaman, who holds a doctorate degree in Sports Administration, has a rich experience and deep understanding of football organisation and administration, having worked across the various league bodies in Nigeria.

While announcing the appointment, NFF’s interim General Secretary, Emmanuel Ikpeme, said it became necessary following the directive on Thursday that all Board Members and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the various league bodies, as well as the COOs, who are not members of NFF staff to vacate their positions.
