CAF invites tender for Sub-Saharan Media Rights for 2027 AFCON

Abuja, August 21, 2026 (www.crestnewsonline.ng) The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Friday announced it was inviting tender for the media rights of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda tagged “PAMOJA 2027”.

The Invitation To Tender (ITT) will include Free-to-Air Rights (FTA) and Pay-TV rights in English, Swahili, Portuguese, isiZulu, Wolof, Yoruba and local languages in the Sub-Saharan territory.

French language in Pay-TV is however excluded for the 2027 edition.

The ITT will close on September 14.

PAMOJA 2027 will be played in East Africa in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda between 19 June and July 17 of 2027.

The CAF AFCON is Africa’s biggest event and the fastest growing global football competition.

The 2025 edition hosted in Morocco attracted over 3.2 billion television audiences and six billion digital views —- making it the third biggest global national teams football event behind the FIFA World Cup and European Championships.

CAF has also put to tender media rights for several of its other upcoming competitions, including junior tournaments, Beach Soccer and Futsal.

These are the Qualification Competition for PAMOJA 2027, CAF Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations 2026 (final tournament) and CAF Africa U-20 Cup of Nations Ghana 2027.

Others are the CAF Africa U-17 Cup of Nations Morocco 2027, Futsal Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 and CAF Africa Cup of Nations U-23 Egypt.(www.crestnewsonline.ng)
