Abeokuta, February 6, 2026 (CrestNewsOnline.ng) The Government of Ogun State on Friday in Abeokuta rallied support for the Falconets, the Nigerian under-20 women football team, ahead of their clash on Saturday with their counterparts from Senegal.

The government, through its Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, in a press statement urged citizens of the state, other residents and those from the neighboring states of Lagos and Oyo to get behind the Nigerian side.

The Falconets are billed to face their Senegalese counterparts on Saturday at the M.K.O. Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta from 3 p.m. in a 2026 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.

“With hearts full of pride and excitement, we warmly invite you to join us in rallying behind our remarkable female football team, the Falconets, as they prepare for a thrilling match against Senegal in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup scheduled for Poland.

“Join us at the M.K.O. Abiola Sports Arena on Saturday at 4 p.m. for an unforgettable showcase of talent, determination, and sportsmanship.

”Your presence will not only uplift our players’ spirits, but will also affirm our unwavering commitment to promoting sports and gender friendly spirit in Ogun State and across Nigeria.
